Description: The Health Inspection Zones layer represents administrative inspection boundaries established for Environmental Health Services activities within the City of Austin and surrounding service areas. The zones were developed to facilitate geographic assignment of inspectors and standardize inspection coverage for food establishments, public health nuisance investigations, temporary events, and other regulated environmental health activities.Boundaries were created using operational service considerations including inspection density, transportation accessibility, workload distribution, jurisdictional limits, and population and business activity patterns. The dataset supports internal planning, routing, performance monitoring, spatial analysis, and dashboard visualization activities. This layer is intended for operational and analytical purposes and may be periodically updated to reflect organizational, demographic, or service delivery changes. Boundaries are administrative in nature and do not represent legal or political jurisdictions

Description: This file lists the district assignments for officers and support staff at the Austin Code Department. Please note that Neighborhood, Commercial, and Multifamily districts with the same direction and number are coterminous, although they are treated as different districts by the department. Districts that fall outside the city limits extend to infinity. This is so cases in the ETJ can be assigned appropriately. Below is a data dictionary for the fields in this dataset.SECTOR: The Code Department's zone for that districtNDISTRICT: Name of the neighborhood districtCDISTRICT: Name of the commercial districtMDISTRICT: Name of the multifamily district
